The Novesta Star Master was purpose built as a military sports shoe for the Slovakian Army, forging a partnership that spanned over 50 years. Since then the iconic utilitarian sneaker has been sought out for its simple aesthetic and proven comfort. Still manufactured today using the original glueless vulcanisation process of heating the natural rubber sole and sealing it directly to it's canvas upper. This ethnical and ecological process creates the unique, unmistakeable chunky, ribbed sole design that has become the trademark look of Novesta.

Novesta was founded in 1939 when shoemaker Jan Antonin Bata, opened his newest factory in the small town of Partizánske in central Slovakia. To this day Novesta have remained champions of quality shoemaking utilising proven traditional methods creating timeless products with longevity their foremost consideration.
